Terms of Service & Community Guidelines

1. Agreement

By creating an account on Vula you agree to these Terms of Service and our Community Guidelines. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. We may update these terms; continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be 18 years or older to use Vula. Underage accounts are removed immediately.
  • You must be legally able to enter into a binding contract in Zambia or your country of residence.
  • One account per person. No impersonation.

3. Your account

  • Keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • You may use a nickname (anonymous profile) or your real name.
  • Your photos must be of you. No photos of minors. No nudity.
  • Provide accurate information about yourself.

4. Community Guidelines

Vula exists for adults in Zambia to meet, chat, and form genuine connections. To keep the community safe, the following are strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment, bullying, or hate speech based on tribe, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
  • Threats of violence or any content glorifying violence.
  • Sexual content involving minors — this is illegal and reported to authorities.
  • Nudity or pornographic content in profile photos or messages.
  • Scams, fraud, or money requests — including romance scams, fake investment offers, or "send airtime" messages.
  • Sex work or solicitation for paid sexual services.
  • Spam, advertising, or links to external dating sites.
  • Impersonation or catfishing — pretending to be someone else.
  • Sharing other users' private information without consent (real name, phone, location, photos).
  • Confessions of violent crime or content promoting self-harm.

5. Reports & enforcement

Anyone can report a profile they believe violates these rules. Our moderation team reviews reports within 48 hours. When a profile receives 5 unresolved reports, it is automatically suspended pending review. Confirmed violations result in permanent bans. Severe violations (threats, CSAM, violence) result in immediate ban and may be reported to Zambian authorities.

6. Subscriptions & payments

  • Subscriptions are paid via MTN, Airtel, or Zamtel Mobile Money in Zambian Kwacha (ZMW).
  • Subscriptions activate immediately on successful payment and run for the period purchased (weekly or monthly).
  • All payments are non-refundable except where required by Zambian law.
  • You may cancel at any time; your subscription remains active until the end of the paid period.
  • Tips sent to other users are voluntary, non-refundable, and Vula takes no responsibility for what recipients do with them.

7. Your safety

Vula is an introduction service. We don't run background checks on members. Always meet in public for the first time, tell a friend where you're going, and trust your instincts. Never send money to someone you haven't met. If you feel unsafe, use the report and block tools immediately.

8. Account termination

We may suspend or permanently ban any account that violates these terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

9. Limitation of liability

Vula is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that you will find a match or that other users are who they claim to be. To the fullest extent permitted by Zambian law, Vula is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app or from your interactions with other users — online or offline.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Zambia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Zambia.
